We want every job seeker to be able to practice on monkeytyping.online. The site aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
Features
- Full keyboard operation, with visible focus indicators and no keyboard traps (press Esc, then Tab, to leave the typing area during a test).
- A real, labelled text field for typing, with the source text available to screen readers.
- A plain text view in Settings that shows the source as normal text with a visible typing box.
- Errors are shown with underlines as well as color, and results are announced once when a test ends.
- High-contrast colors, support for reduced motion, and account forms with labelled fields and clear error messages.
Known limitations
Timed typing is inherently difficult with some assistive technologies, and the keyboard heatmap in reports is visual (the same information is listed as text next to it). Employers are generally required to consider reasonable accommodations for their own tests, so ask the employer if you need one.
